Frequently Asked Questions

What Can I Use This Spice Blend For?

Of course this recipe can be used for the ever popular holiday classic – pumpkin pie, but I don’t think this is a one use spice blend, no no! This aromatic blend can be used in a variety of yummy pumpkin dishes.

What’s The Difference Between Apple Pie Spice and Pumpkin Pie Spice?

These spice blends both typically contain a mixture of allspice and other spices that are similar in flavor. Pumpkin pie spice usually blends allspice with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and cloves, whereas, apple pie spice is usually heavier on the cinnamon, with hints of allspice and nutmeg.

Can’t I Just Use Those Spices Separately?

The best part about having all of these spices combined is the convenience! You can save time (and storage space) by having all of the pumpkin pie spice in a handy little container to grab whenever you need!

Expert Tips

  1. If you ever have a recipe that calls for allspice and you’re all out, use this pumpkin spice in its place! Since it does contain allspice, it can make a great substitute in recipes.
  2. Pumpkin pie spice can be used in a wide variety of baking dishes, but most importantly, pumpkin spice lattes which I’ve included a recipe below just for you.

How To Make A Pumpkin Spice Latte

When fall hits, the leaves drop, the scarves come out and the line at your local coffee shop is FULL of people wanting the long awaited pumpkin spice latte. Skip the lines and save your money, this is going to be the only recipe you ever need to recreate that delicious drink at home! Move over Starbucks! A new pumpkin spice is in town.

  1. Start by heating milk (You can use whole, 2%, skim, or dairy-free milk. Coconut or almond milk would be delicious), canned pumpkin, sugar, pumpkin pie spice, and vanilla extract on the stove.
  2. Next, combine your pumpkin spice milk mixture with your choice of strong coffee or shot of espresso. Finally, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin pie spice. Simple, quick, and no coffee shop lines.

How to store

Store this spice blend in an airtight container or jar in your pantry for up to 1 year.
