  • Buttermilk Powder – This may be the only ingredient you might not have on hand. You can find buttermilk powder usually in bulk food stores or in the same aisle as the powdered milk at your local grocery store. See “FAQs & Expert Tips” for more info.
  • Herbs – We are using a combination of dried parsley, dried chives, and dried dill.
  • Spices – A simple combo of onion powder, garlic powder, salt and pepper!

Frequently Asked Questions

What Is Ranch Dressing Mix?

A combination of simple herbs and spices that make up the base of ranch dressing. This mix can be used on a variety of dishes.

How Do I Make Ranch Dressing From This Seasoning Mix?

To make ranch dressing, combine 3 tbsp ranch dressing mix, 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/2 cup sour cream and 1 cup milk. Whisk everything well together, refrigerate for 30 minutes before serving. If you would like to make it with buttermilk, you can use my recipe for ranch dressing with 3 tbsp of this dressing mix.

How Do I Make Ranch Dip From This Seasoning Mix?

To make ranch dip add 2 tbsp ranch dressing mix to a bowl along with 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 3/4 cup sour cream and 2 tsp lemon juice. Combine everything together, cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

What Is Buttermilk Powder?

Buttermilk is the leftover liquid from the result of the butter-making process. Buttermilk powder is created by dehydrating that buttermilk until it becomes a powder. Surprisingly, buttermilk powder is low in fat, so it’s a fantastic, tangy addition to add your recipes.

What Can I Use My Ranch Dressing Mix For?

Besides the classic ranch, this easy seasoning mix is also perfect to make dips, dressings and to add a little zest to our favorite recipes! There is no limit to what you can make with it.

Tips

  1. Try adding your homemade ranch dressing to a dredge when making chicken, pork or fish. Use it as a seasoning on popcorn or roasted veggies (potatoes are my favorite) or you could even add it to some butter and brush it over a baguette for a unique twist on garlic bread!
  2. Looking for a specific recipe to use this mix? Check out my Ranch Pork Chops.
